Practical leadership. Positive Results.
"My roots here are deep, and my family has loved the
state's waters and trees, and its history of responsible and
responsive politics.
I am a small business owner with long-time professional
experience in education, and a proven record of community
leadership.
I appreciate those who worked on my 2008 campaign and I
thank all those who cast their votes for me in my race for
the Minnesota House of Representatives, and I honor the
participation of those who voted for my opponent."

We lost the 2008 election 14,689 for Matt Dean and 11,698 for Kate Christopher - 55.61% for Dean
and 44.29% for Christopher. We were one of three House races in 2008 that were targeted by
Conservative PACs from outside District 52B. There were two rounds of phone calls and 13 pieces
of literature sent out against the Vote Kate Christopher campaign. Estimates for these attacks range
from 46,000 to 50,000 dollars and are difficult for a campaign limited to $34,600 in spending to overcome. We do not
regret the effort and many from the team remain enthused about the political process.
I want to take this opportunity to thank all my supporters during the 2008 campaign for the House of Representatives. I
was continually amazed and humbled by the number of people who stepped forward to help. I had the best campaign
team lead by Charlotte Preston. My team members were Kevin Donovan, Dan Parnell, Bob Schneeweis, Becky and John
Siekmeier, Katie Macke, Peg Guilfoyle, Deb Lauer Hunt, Marty Gerky, Carol Byan, Bill Coleman and Phil Williams. During
the campaign, life's complications had a couple members drop from the team but others were quick to pick up the tasks
and continue moving us forward. Special thanks for extraordinary support goes to Pam Johnson, Dennis Lindke,
Margaret Boetcher, Mary Bolton, Paula Connell, Kathryn Shaw, Larry LaBonte, Scott Peterson, Kandace Olsen, John
Velin, Bill Eggers, Dan Hoxworth and Bob Hill. Together we learned a great deal, met some wonderful people who live in
District 52B and became closer as friends. There were so many active volunteers in my campaign that I will not name
them all but my gratitude is extended to every door knocker, phone caller, letter writer, office worker and donor who
contributed to my campaign.
I also want to thank the many people I met while door knocking, meeting with local officials and attending community
events. I was especially inspired by the people of Hugo and their response to Summer Tornadoes and a Stillwater High
School Orchestra concert I attended. I walked or rode my bike over much of this District and enjoyed seeing so many
beautiful areas and meetings so many engaged committed and interesting people. We are all lucky to live in such
wonderful communities.
